Our Philosophy
The Trust aims to help charities whose activities are primarily based in Scotland, or overseas in developing countries. Priority is given to projects that support the very poorest in their community. Please note that only registered charities can be funded.
The Trust is keen to work with organisations who can demonstrate that the funds are making a real difference.
It is important to the Trust that the funded organisations can demonstrate sound business sense in their activities, ie focused use of funds without unnecessary overheads.
The Trustees have worked hard to set up the Trust funds and consequently they expect the recipients to extend a similar level of care in their use. A key component of a longer term relationship will be the Trust’s ability to understand and measure how successful the funds have been in benefiting the community or project supported.
The Trust’s funding priorities are individual projects that can be isolated from core activities as much as possible. Whilst core costs may be funded for organisations as part of longer term support this would normally only be applicable following successful funding of at least one project.
